The NUTRITION EDUCATION COORDINATOR provides support for and monitors the daily work of the Nutrition Education Assistants under the direction of the Extension Home Economics Agent responsible for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). DISTINGUISHING FEATURES This is a single classification and not currently part of a series of classes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS Employees in this class have daily telephone and/or personal contact with Nutrition Education Assistants in order to observe and report the level of service being provided. They also explain EFNEP program and services to public and private agency personnel and answer questions concerning the program. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Employees in this class receive general supervision from the Home Economics Extension Agent with responsibility for the EFNEP program, who reviews work for completeness and accuracy. General work assignments are defined in the lob description when the employee is hired, and lob descriptions are reviewed and updated annually. Employees in this class use agency policies and procedures and State and Federal EFNEP policies as guidelines. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Two years of experience and/or training in a program providing social services. One year of college courses in nutrition may substitute for one year of the required experience. NOTE: A foreign language fluency may be required for some positions. |
