GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CLASS The WAREHOUSE WORKER receives, stores, retrieves, and delivers various types of items that are part of a warehouse operation on a college or university campus. The Warehouse Worker works under the direction of warehouse coordinator or higher level administrative supervisor who has responsibility for the overall operation of the warehouse or department. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES This is a single classification and not currently part of a series of classes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Allocation of positions to this class will depend on the total work performed which may include one or a combination of the duties or tasks listed below.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS Employees in this class have daily in person contact with other agency staff to receive and deliver items that are part of the warehouse operation and answer questions concerning orders and deliveries, and in the process of issuing or distributing materials from the warehouse. They have regular contact with vendors to obtain information, place orders, or resolve problems. Employees have regular contact with people who deliver supplies and equipment to the warehouse. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Employees in this class receive close supervision from a warehouse coordinator or administrative supervisor who assigns and reviews work on a daily basis to ensure conformity with standards and that deliveries are made in a timely manner. GENERAL INFORMATION Positions are located in departments who maintain a warehouse operation (e.g., food service, physical plant, printing) on a college or university campus throughout the state of Oregon. They require the willingness to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
